Financial Advisory Board

The Financial Advisory Board consists of seven non-elected, non-compensated Township residents.
FAB members filling a vacancy created by the departure of another FAB member prior to the end of their term will serve for the remainder of that unexpired term. FAB members appointed to a new term serve for three years.
The following information is provided to give you an idea as to the time commitment required as a FAB member.
- The FAB meets once each month on the Thursday following the first Trustee meeting of each month. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m. and last approximately two hours.
- Each FAB member is teamed with other FAB members and is assigned primary responsibility for the review of two specific departments.
- Each FAB member meets once each quarter with each of the assigned departments to review those departments’ budget positions for the most recent quarter. These meetings are scheduled at a mutually convenient time between the FAB members, the respective department heads, the Fiscal Officer and the Administrator. These meetings are usually held during normal business hours and last approximately one hour.
- FAB members also meet in October at a pre-arranged, mutually convenient time with their assigned department heads, the Fiscal Officer and the Administrator to review each assigned department’s proposed budget for the upcoming year. These meetings are usually held during normal business hours and last approximately one to two hours.
- FAB members also attend, in November, the budget hearing for their assigned departments with the Board of Trustees. These meetings are usually held in the early evening hours and last approximately one to two hours.
- FAB members are provided monthly with a summary report of the revenue and expense for all departments.
- FAB members are provided quarterly with a detailed account item report of the revenue and expense for all departments.
