Guidelines for Sidewalk and Driveway Approach Replacement

To make it easier for Delhi Township residents to repair or replace their sidewalk and/or driveway aprons, the Delhi Township Public Works Department has created guidelines you should follow when doing any type of this work.

Concrete Sidewalk and Driveway Approaches

• Concrete sidewalks outside of the limits of a driveway approach shall have a minimum thickness of 5 inches

• Concrete sidewalks within the limits of a driveway approach shall have a minimum thickness of 7 inches

• All concrete driveway approaches shall have a minimum thickness of 7 inches

• A minimum of 1/2 inch expansion material shall be place at the back of the curb and where new concrete will meet existing concrete

• All concrete shall be class “C” with a minimum strength of 4000 pounds

Asphalt Driveway Approaches

• All asphalt driveway approaches shall have a minimum thickness of 8 inches

• Base course shall have a minimum thickness of 6 inches of 301 Base Asphalt

• Surface course shall have a minimum thickness of 2 inches of 404 Finish Asphalt
